RHD Training Center of Excellence aims to establish a standardized approach to treating Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in Ethiopia and East Africa. The center provides essential training for healthcare professionals
• Echo training for General Practitioners (GPs) and residents (internal medicine and pediatrics residents)
• Training on safe Penicillin G Benzathine injection administration for health care workers
• Training for School nurse about rheumatic fever and throat infection
• Training on Advanced RHD Treatment and Care with detailed descriptions of courses and schedules with certification.
To date, 75 nurses and 12 physicians from remote regions have been trained in basic echocardiography for early RHD diagnosis. In addition, 150 healthcare workers have received ongoing training in collaboration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health. We plan to reach more regions and health care workers to aid the RHD prevention program
